Every film gets shot somewhere real, even when the story pretends otherwise. That castle in Game of Thrones, the diner in Pulp Fiction, the highway in The Matrix — all of it exists on an actual map, and Movie Scene Map plots the whole thing.
18,697 real filming locations across 171 countries, tied to 10,528 films and series, plus 2,153 video games, 408 anime, and 365 manga placed by where their stories are set rather than where they were filmed — since nothing is filmed inside a drawn or rendered world. Search a title to see everywhere it was shot, or search a place to see everything that's ever been filmed there.
The rigor behind it is what sets this apart. The backbone is filming location statements sourced from Wikidata, joined to each place's coordinates, photo, and Wikipedia article. Weaker evidence — a location mentioned in a production's own Wikipedia article rather than a formal data statement — gets explicitly labeled "per Wikipedia" and never mixed in with the stronger sourcing. Nothing is scraped from listicles. Nothing is AI-generated.
